PAEDIATRIC CARE
Contact UsPAEDIATRIC CARE
Our paediatric care can be provided in several different settings, including general hospitals, community centres and in a child’s own home with high-quality care provided by our specialist care providers in the best ways possible.
How do we help?
The care we put in place for our clients keeps the baby or child at the centre of everything we do – building complete support, fitted to their needs, and that can grow with them as they change and develop. We work with children at all stages of their development, from the very young, right across to their transition into adulthood. With the CCG’s support, we ensure that transitioning packages have a smooth process.
We know that having a child with complex needs can have an impact on the whole family. That’s why we work together with the families we support to provide a service that is family-focused, enabling our young clients to enjoy life lived at home where they belong, and to participate fully in ordinary family life, giving the best environment for family bonding and relationships.
We’re flexible in our approach, offering support built around the family routine; that includes flexing our support between term time and school holidays, and even accompanying our clients on holiday when required.
Our people
All of our personal care assistants undergo comprehensive, industry-leading training as part of their induction to Optimam Complex Care, reinforced by client and child-specific, nurse-led training in the home, so you can be sure that your child is receiving the best possible care.
In particular, our paediatric team is skilled in areas such as:
• ventilation and airway management;
• gastrostomy management;
• nasogastric feeding;
• medication management;
• epilepsy awareness.
And because we know that welcoming someone new into your home is a daunting situation, we make sure to introduce all team members to you and your child before they begin working in your home.
We recognise that things can change over time, and the pace of change can be enhanced, particularly when working with children or young people, so we continually reassess our clients to ensure that our care reflects their needs.
