CEREBRAL PALSY

We are a complex care provider for adults and children with cerebral palsy. We work with our clients to provide the care and support they need, in their own home. Giving ease to lives across the UK and abroad.

What is cerebral palsy?

Usually caused by an injury to the brain in pregnancy or during or after birth – often as a cause of lack of oxygen over a period of time.

How can we help?

We pride ourselves on providing the highest quality clinical and personal care to enable our clients to live their lives as they choose.

When working with children and younger teenagers, we focus on supporting families in their primary carer role, including finding ways to facilitate family life for every member of the family.

We focus on providing care that maximises independence for our clients. Often that means identifying tools and methods to assist with the muscle and movement control issues associated with cerebral palsy – from simple changes in routine to introducing more involved systems to enable clients to control their environment. Our ethos at Optimam Complex Care is to ensure we enable our clients to have the highest quality of life.

There’s no one size fits all –We always believe there are different ways to care but reach the same result. That’s why we take a holistic approach to care to ensure we have a full understanding of our clients’ individual needs, both clinical and personal.

We make the effort to create a plan that reflects our client’s hobbies, goals, and aspirations for the future. We’ll then also take the time to character match our clients with the right personal care assistants providing their day-to-day care. We understand having someone new in your home can be a daunting experience, and our aim is to make this as stress-free as possible.

All of our personal care helpers receive training specific to the needs of their clients, and we also work beside specialists and healthcare professionals, including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, GPS, and hospitals, to ensure the support we provide is suitable.

We also know that things can adjust over time, so, through regular monitoring and review, we make sure that we’re always providing the most appropriate and cost-effective support to all of our clients.
